Tapestry Sneakers

Yo peep this tapestry artist, Emma Sulzer,Inspired by a friend’s sneaker collection and realizing that footwear has become a focal point of creativity, Sulzer found it to be a great format to create new works. After all, art reflects culture.

It takes her about 40 hours to create each shoe, Emma first takes plastic sheets to create the frame of the shoe’s structure, then begins to weave around these pieces for the final composition. Having years of experience in weaving, she is able to get down to notable details, including creating an icy effect for the Jordan 5 soles.
